Waterville - Gloria Ann Flannery, 84, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on August 9, 2017. She was born on July 29, 1933 in Detroit, ME, one of five children of Hazel (Boston) and Harry Pease. She attended school at MCI and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1996. She was 63 years old then and very proud to get her diploma.

Gloria married Everett Flannery in 1955 and they raised three children. She worked in retail for 55 years. After retirement she helped out with her grandchildren and was devoted to each and every one of them, and let herself be called affectionately "Trixie" and readily call back "Hey Hot Shot". Having a pool was more about the grandchildren than anyone else.

Hers was a full and rich life. She enjoyed spending time in her beloved flower beds and the beauty they provided to all who saw them. She was an exceptional cross-stitcher and enjoyed water coloring.

Gloria is survived by her three children: her daughter Theresa Weston and her husband Dana of Waterville; her daughter Brenda Patkus of Clinton; her son Everett, Jr. and his wife Jayne of Skowhegan; many grandchildren; step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as her brother Roger Pease and his wife Valerie of Wenatchee, WA. She was predeceased by her husband in 1987 and three siblings.

A funeral service and reception will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday August 20, 2017 at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. Burial will be at a later date in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 289 Civic Center Drive, Augusta. The following was written and read by Gloria's Granddaughter Rachel Booker:

Memories Kept

Hearts are heavy
Tears fill eyes
For we're never ready
To say goodbye

Memories flood us
All the moments we shared
We hold them inside us
For it helps us to bear

The weight of the silence
The hole that is left
Those moments become
Our memories kept

And I'll miss you dearly
Once my last tears been wept
My moments with you
Will be memories kept
